Cathy worked for over 28 years in the food service industry at Bonanza Steak House and Sonic. At Sonic she won an award for Best Server of Southwest Louisiana and she was known as "The Crazy Sock Lady" and the "Peppermint Lady". Cathy was the founder of the Sulphur support group called New Hope G.A. Cathy was an avid shopper, loved sending sticker covered cards to everyone she knew, and she loved to go fishing with her family. Cathy especially loved to host cookouts and have her family and friends over for "Game Night". Cathy adored her grandchildren, bragged on them every chance she got, and cherished the time she got to spend with them.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Loretta Maynard, a brother, Russell Maynard, and a nephew, Heath Maynard.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Theodore Meyers; two daughters, Melissa Sonnier and Lori Aucoin; grandchildren, Amanda Thorne, Matthew Aucoin and wife, Alexis, and Mattie Sonnier; sister, Cindy Thibodeaux; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Pastors Erich and Leslie Mansell will officiate services. Music led by special friend, Jody Barrilleaux.
Cathy's family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Maureen Lannan and staff, Heart of Hospice Staff, and especially Chris and Shana Gaspard.
