He was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 179. Calvin enjoyed playing cards, cooking, playing guitar and singing, dancing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Tiffany Howard and husband, Jeremy, James Guidry and wife, Roberta, and Danielle Guidry Gragg and husband, Kenneth; his siblings, Jo Helen Thibodeaux, Deanie O'Quain, and Chee Wee Guidry; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Elodie Guidry; and siblings, Jimmy Guidry, Gary Guidry, Curtis Guidry, and Ricky Paul Guidry.
A Celebration of Calvin's Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Hixson's Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
