Anna Mae Doncaster Doherty Mason, age 91, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Anna was born on September 25, 1929 in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, one of seven children.
She was an active member of Olivet Baptist Church in Sulphur. She was a volunteer at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital where she worked in the Gift Shop. She also served 2 terms as President of the Auxiliary and was editor of the newsletter.
Anna was preceded in death by her first husband, Leslie Doherty, second husband, Dean Mason, parents, Frederick and Pauline Doncaster, and four brothers, Donald "Don" Doncaster, Robert "Bud" Doncaster, and Frederick "Ted" Doncaster.
Survivors include her three children, Sharon A. Doherty, Martin R. Doherty, and Sandy E. Doherty; six grandchildren, T.J. Hayes, Desiree Johnson, Christopher Doherty, Nicholas Doherty, Krisinda Doherty, and Leslie Milam, two sisters, Amy Weaver and Joyce Wakefield; brother, Bliss Doherty; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Anna was proud to be the Matriarch of two 5 generation families.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux will lead services. Anna will be laid to rest in the family cemetery at a later date in Marshall, llinois.
