Zoe Ann Guzman, 66, of Needville, Texas went to be with our Lord on September 18, 2023 after a courageous fight with cancer. Zoe was born on May 22, 1957 to Louis and Virginia Martinez in Victoria, Texas. She was officially the first baby girl to be born in Citizens Hospital. Zoe graduated from Miller High School in Corpus Christi, she loved being a part of the Drill Team for the “Buccaneers”. She then moved to Houston and furthered her education as a dental assistant. After obtaining her Dental Assistant License, she pursued a career in that field for the next 20 plus years and enjoyed it. She left her dental career to start a small business with her husband as a secretary and his right hand man, which turned out to be one of their many legacies.
In 1977, Zoe met the love of her life Cruz. September 1st of 1979, they got married in Houston, Tx. Soon after their wedding, they had two beautiful children; Victoria and Sebastian. In 1988 they moved to Stafford, Tx and began to raise their family. Zoe was very fond of her yard there in Stafford, she spent countless hours working on her plants and making sure the front and back yard were immaculate. Cruz and Zoe started City Machine in Rosenberg, Tx in 1994. While Cruz was in the machine room, Zoe was working the books or running to get parts, which she loved. She was always so grateful for all the lifelong relationships and friendships she had made through “the shop”.
Zoe was the life of the party, her favorite thing to do was dance and have a good time. She also LOVED taking pictures. If there was music and a dance floor or a moment to be captured, she was there. Her family and faith came first in her life. She was very devoted to the Catholic Church. To say the least, she was proud of her family. Most of all her grandchildren; Trinity, Saint, and Enzo were her world. Her favorite title was “Mimi” .There are no true words to describe the love she had for her family but “unconditional.” She was the true definition of our biggest fan. After moving to Needville, Tx in 2015, you could always find her outside working with her plants and flowers. Zoe enjoyed her beach days with the family and all things to do with the sun. In 2020, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and fought vigorously until the Lord called her home. Her laugh and smile was deeply contagious and will be missed. Zoe will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She will be missed by her beloved husband of 44 years, Cruz Guzman: Children, Victoria Guzman (Aaron Fasbinder), Sebastian (Kateri) Guzman. Grandchildren, Trinity Guzman, Saint Guzman, Enzo Guzman: Mother, Virginia Martinez: Siblings, Louis Martinez (Lisa), Roxann Martinez. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
