Rebecca Horn Jordan, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2016. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years , James “Jimmy” Jordan and her two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Pack and her husband, Bob, of Sugar Land and her two grandsons, Sam Pack, his wife, Anna, and their son, Briggs, and Robert Pack and his fiance, Jayme Molohon, all of Houston. She is also survived by several nieces and one nephew.
Becky was born in Bay Springs, Mississippi to Grady and Addie Horn. She was the youngest of five children. She and Jimmy began dating at age sixteen and were married in 1943. Jimmy worked for Western Geophysical for over 50 years beginning on a “doodle-bug” crew. During that time they lived all over the southeast and southwest United States before moving to Shreveport, Louisiana where they lived for 12 years. They moved to Houston in 1970 and later to Sugar Land where they spent many happy years.
Becky devoted her life to serve her family, friends, and faith. She and Jim enjoyed entertaining their friends, helping raise their grandsons, and taking especially good care of their pets. Becky was a lifelong Baptist and a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. For many years she was a faithful member of the Sugar Land Garden Club. She enjoyed photography, traveling, bird-watching, and her dog, Buddy. She lived a good and full life and has now gone on to unite with her family in heaven for eternity. She was much loved by those who remain. She was a good friend, caring mother, devoted wife, and a doting grandmother.
The family would like to thank her caregivers: Nina Kilmer, Brenda Cunningham and the ladies of Beloved Caregivers Services for their kind and loving care. Our special thanks is given to Dr. David Rothschild for his years of attentive service to Becky. She was very blessed to have all of you in her life.
There will be a visitation for friends and family from 6pm until 8pm at Settegast-Kopf Company Funeral Directors at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX. A private graveside service will be held the following day.
