Pete Rubio Martinez

Pedro “Pete” Rubio Martinez, 70, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away March 6, 2014, in Galveston, Texas. Mr. Martinez was born in Richmond, Texas on October 31, 1943. He was the son of Jacinto Martinez and the late Cecilia Rubio Martinez.

Pete’s interests included his family, motorcycles, music and humor. When his health began to deteriorate, he refused to let it slow him down. You could still find him repairing vehicles, up-keeping his lawn and maintaining his home. Pete was a devoted family man who shared a love that will be dearly missed by relatives and friends. He cared for his mother until she passed away at the age of 76 and continued to care for his father.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Rebecca Martinez; his children, Jim Martinez, Stephanie Godard and her husband Ray Godard, Laura Garza and her husband Joe Garza, Annalee Martinez, Noel Martinez and Samuel Martinez; his grandchildren, Jim A. Martinez, Ryan Martinez, Leighann Garza, Hannah Garza, Isaiah Garza and Amber Garza.

A visitation with the family will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 9, 2014, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 PM, with Jimn Kyles – Pastor at theChurch in Rosenberg, TX, officiating.
