James Jim Nelson Hartman

James “Jim” Nelson Hartman born October 27, 1945 to J. W. Hartman and Etta Findeisen Hartman in Temple, Texas joined God in His heavenly home at the age of 71 on December 3, 2016. Family had surrounded him throughout the day and was there at the time of his transition. He and Gladi Hopper Hartman had enjoyed 48 ½ years of marriage and been blessed with the gifts of 2 children and six grandchildren. Jennifer Culberson and spouse Eric with Chase 15, Brady 13 and Kendall 2 and Joe Hartman and spouse Kelly with Morgan 22, James 4 and Kenzie 2. Jim was blessed with wonderful family, friends and co-workers throughout his life.

Jim was educated in the Temple School system graduating in 1964, Temple Junior College graduating with an associate degree in 1966 and attended the University of Houston. He worked for General Electric Supply Company until his retirement January of 2006. At that time the patio at home became his “office” and he enjoyed his family, friends, travel and 5 years of volunteering at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital.

The family is grateful for the medical and nursing staff at Houston Methodist Sugar Land and the care of Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care through the recent months.
