Ed was married to Barbara Teer Barnes for 64 years. Ed had worked within the Computer Science Industry pertaining to Information Technology where he retired from Anadarko Petroleum as a Computer/Systems Analyst Manager.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Houston, Texas and had a passion for all things computers, reading, and genealogy. A simple statement that summed up his attitude about life was that this life is just a preparation for the next—nothing will last unless it is done for the Lord.
Ed is survived by his wife, Barbara Teer Barnes; his son Charles Barnes (Colleen); and his daughter Rhea Hernandez (Mike); his grandchild Tim Barnes, his grandchild Mark Barnes, his grandchild Lauren McQuillen (Adam), his grandchild Kari Howard (Clayton), his grandchild Brigit Shorter (Sammy), his grandchild Allie Seynaeve (Justin), his grandchild Samantha Brewslow (Jason Sears), his great grandchild Luke Seynaeve, his great grandchild Bonnie Howard, his niece Amy Hall and his nephew Michael Barnes.
Ed was preceded in death by his father William Earl Barnes and his mother Helen Hyers Barnes; his brother Robert Wade Barnes; his brother William Earl Barnes, Jr. and his sister Helen Lindberg.
A visitation for Ed will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
