Donna Karen Pharis

DONNA KAREN PHARIS, age 53, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born December 18, 1957, in Port Arthur, Texas, to George and Edna Lambright Pharis.

Donna graduated from Dulles High School and received a B.A. Degree from Lamar University.

Donna is survived by her son, Erick; mother, Edna; sister, Jan Lindsey and her husband Randy and their children, Lauren, Justin, and Morgan; and brother George Pharis and his wife Mary Jane and their children, Trey and Mary Kate.

She will be missed by a vast circle of loving and devoted friends, including the Boy Scouts and their parents and leaders of Troop 148, the staff and her former students at International Preparatory School of Missouri City, Texas, and most recently, her coworkers at Whole Foods in Sugar Land.

A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, April 18, 2011, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit).

Her family and friends would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and chaplains at St. Luke's Sugar Land Hospital and M D Anderson Cancer Center for their compassionate service. A special note of gratitude is extended to Dr. Amitabha Sarma.
