Antonio "Tony" Medina Salazar passed away surrounded by family in the comfort of his own home on November 7th, 2019 in Missouri City, Texas at the age of 75. Antonio was born on November 22, 1943 in Yoakum-Dewitt, Texas to Eugenio and Simona Salazar.
He is preceded in death by his Grandfathers Pedro Salazar and Daniel Medina, his Grandmothers Lousiana Salazar and Paula Medina, his Father Eugenio Ranger Salazar and his Mother Simona Salazar, his Brothers Felix J. Salazar, Fernando Salazar, Armando Salazar and Johnny Salazar.
He is survived by his Life Partner Dana C. Romero, his 3 sisters Lupe Alonso, Isabel Torres and Mary Keagy, his brothers David Salazar and Amador Salazar, and his 9 kids Tracy Salazar, Thomas Salazar, Elizabeth Trevino, Chris Romero, Tricia Romero, Kathy Jimenez, Cindy Trevino, Joseph Romero, and Anthony Escalante and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
In Antonio's early adulthood he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on December 5th, 1961. He fought in the Cuban Crisis, Laos, and Vietnam War. His proudest career accomplishment was his rapid advancement through the ranks when times were hard to advance. (Master Sergeant before 20 years is/was considered very good). His proudest civic accomplishments were different functions and officer held at Moose lodge, Rotary Club, VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans.
A Rosary service is scheduled at 10:00am Thursday, November 21, 2019 followed by a memorial service at 10:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church 1510 5th St, Missouri City, TX 77489 with a reception to follow, with a Committal Service to be held at 2:30 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
