Robert E. Byrne

Robert E. Byrne of Suffern, NY, formerly of Maywood NJ passed away on Saturday Nov 19th, 2011. He was born of February 12, 1961 to Helen (nee Lonergan) and Thomas Byrne in the Bronx, NY. He graduated from Hackensack High School in 1979 and then attended Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY obtaining a BS in chemistry. He was employed by Public Service Electric & Gas Company for many years as a dispatcher out of Somerset, NJ.Bob was an avid sports fan and passed that love along to his children spending countless hours helping, coaching, and attending their various sport activities. He had a deep passion for the NY Giants, the NY Yankees, and Notre Dame football.He is survived by his wife of 23 years Carolyn (nee Mueller) and his loving children, Kelly, Timothy, and Erin all of Suffern, NY. He is also survived by his godparents Katherine and Robert Merritts of Cresskill, NJ, and by his two brothers, Christopher Byrne of Newburgh, NY and Thomas Byrne Jr. of Maywood, NJ. and by many loving nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
