Mary Christine Davis (a.k.a Piggy face by her niece) of 196 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern, New York, passed away on August 19, 2022, at 6:03 in the evening at the age of 91. She was born on August 15, 1931, in Ireland, Listowel, Co. Kerry where she grew up with 16 brothers and sisters in a small thatch cottage.
She worked as a housekeeper when she first arrived in the United States and then went into food services. She was actively involved in American legion, playing Santa for the children during Christmas time, etc.…. she was active in her building at 196 Lafayette Ave, when needed and received multiple good citizen awards from her building.
They are preceded in death by. Her Father William (Sonny) Canavan, Mom Honora Canavan, Brother’s Gerry, William, Mic, Sister’s Debna, Peg, Bridie.
She is survived by her son Liam John Davis, daughter-in-law Mandy, Grandchildren, John, Liam Jr. & Kelly and their children. She is survived by her Sister’s Nora, Theresa, Helen, Kathleen, Philomena & Lizzy, Brother Patsy and all their families.

The family would like to thank All those who went above and beyond in taking care of Aunt Mary, The lovely staff at Joe Raso Hospice in New City, Thank you to Nick for making her anything she wanted to eat to spending time with her, To all the nurses and staff who went above and beyond, Marianne Terry, her guardian angel social worker, her aides Marie and Marie, and friends and neighbors for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.
A Memorial Visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901. A livestream will occur Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 12:15 PM to 2:00 PM. A Memorial Service will occur Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901.
She was a special light in this world and will truly be missed by those who knew and love her.
