Leo “Mickey” Mickaluck of Tallman, NY a WWII Navy Veteran, true friend, loyal husband, amazing father, wonderful grandfather, and caring uncle has passed after a brief illness at the age of 94. Born to Margaret and David Mickaluck, at home in the Bronx, NY. On August 22, 1953 Mickey married his beloved wife Catherine O’Connor. Mickey enlisted at 18 years old during WWII and was on the USS Neville in the South Pacific. He worked for the Transit Authority for a short time before working for Con Edison as a District Operator. He retired from Con Ed after 34 years. Mickey was a life member of the Tallman F.D. with whom he volunteered for over 50 years.
In addition to his wife Cathy, Mickey is also survived by his son Michael and his wife Donna, granddaughter Michela Mickaluck of Montgomery,
NY, and many loved nephews and nieces. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 4-8pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Church of the Presentation, Upper Saddle River, NJ with burial to follow at
Fred W. Loescher Veteran’s Cemetery.
