John "Joe" Donnelly

John Joseph Donnelly “Joe”, 80 of Suffern New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Tuxedo Hospital, Tuxedo Park, NY on October 31, 1941.

Joe attended Sacred Heart School and graduated Suffern High School in 1959. He served in the United States Army based in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1964.

On September 2, 1967 he married the love of his life, Charlotte Conklin. Throughout the 54 years of their marriage they shared, many fun adventures and have many memories and stories to tell.

During his life Joe had many different vocations, the most recent and probably favorite was being a school bus driver for the Suffern Central School District. He loved the children he transported to and from school every day.

Joe was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 859, both in Suffern, New York.

Joe had many pastimes, his most favorite included sailing the seas and visiting the many different tropical ports of call with his favorite travel companion and love of his life, his wife Charlotte. He enjoyed travel to the Adirondacks, fishing, and camping. He was an avid NY Jets fan, supporting them throughout the years with their many ups and mostly downs. He also enjoyed watching Nascar with his buddy Benny the cat.

Joe treasured most of all the many great conversations and adventures he had with the apple of his eye, his Grandson, Justin McInerney.

Joe is survived by his wife Charlotte of 54 years of Suffern, NY his daughters; Jacqueline Broersma (Matthew) of Tuxedo Park, NY, Barbara McInerney (Timothy) of the Town of Warwick, NY and Kimberly Rohe (Dennis), of Tuxedo Park, NY. He is also survived by his sister Roseanne Trischetta (Robert) of Sarasota, FL and many nieces and nephews.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Margaret Donnelly.

Visitation will be at Wanamaker and Carlough’s Funeral home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 4-7pm. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
