John was a big man, with an even bigger heart - a loyal and true friend who meant   more to me (and surely a great many others) than he may have ever known.  He liked to refer to himself as the toughest teddy bear you'd ever meet.  Indeed he was.  I am a better person for having known him and deeply saddened to learn today of his passing.  Thank you, John, for the being the man you were.  Mary, John and Lori, I am so sorry for your loss.  He loved you and all his family so, so much.

John's presence was infectious...you just wanted to be around him. He was truly a gentle giant. My  condolences to your family.

John was a wonderful man.  He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of such a wonderful man.  I am sorry I missed the services and a chance to say goodbye to him.  I worked under John's direction at both Gentiva and Continuum. Combined I worked under his direction for 10 years, longer than anyone else in my career. John was firm and fair.  He had realistic expectations and recognized you when you met and exceeded them.  Watching him, I learned how great leaders lead.  Even though he was a senior executive in both companies, he was always approachable and kind.  He was a great person and businessman that will be missed. Luckily, he has left us all with great memories and stories to tell to remember him.

I remember John's kindness and thoughtfulness when my mother died. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

I am so sorry for your loss. "Jocko" was a high school friend of my father Tony DiMeglio and my God father. I have a few early childhood memories of him and they are all good. My prayers are with your family.

I just learned of John's passing.  I had the good fortune to work for him at the Port Authority in the early 90's.  He was a wonderful, personable boss.  I really loved working for him, he was tough, but fair, and just a really nice guy.  I remember him telling me how much he loved Aruba because a of the trade winds and "a big guy like me could be on the beach all day without getting too hot". And how proud he was of his daughter's upcoming wedding at the time.  I know he will be deeply missed. So very sorry for your loss.

Aunt Mary Rose, Lori, John John & Families, Uncle John was one those special people in life who knew how to have a good time. I will always remember how he loved to play tricks, like hanging my brother Martin from the molding in Nona & Papa's house, telling stories of gangsters hiding in the cliffs or busting Uncle Joe's chops. Dear Aunt Mary Rose, John, Lori and the kids.

You are all in our prayers at this saddest of times.  Uncle John was a fantastic uncle who I loved and respected.
