James McDermott

James P. McDermott of Airmont, NY, Naples, FL and Boise, ID died surrounded by his family on September 26, 2017 in his 80th year. Before beginning his trading career, Mr. McDermott served in the United States Army from 1956-1960. Jim was a Morgan Stanley broker and member of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) community for almost 50 years. Beloved husband of Eileen (McNamara) and the late Sheila (Vaughan). Devoted father of Tracy McDermott (Charles McQuillen) of Natick, MA, Kerry (Scott) Delaney of Warwick, NY, John McDermott, James (Susan) McDermott of Upper Saddle River, NJ, Keith (Melissa) McDermott of Warwick, NY and Kelli (Kristopher) George-Ott of Boise, ID. Dear brother of Grace Grey, Barbara McDermott and the late John McDermott and Marion Smith. Cherished grandfather of James McQuillen, Sheila McQuillen, Patrick McQuillen, James McDermott, Joseph McDermott, Ella McDermott, Grace McDermott, Madeleine McDermott, Ronan Ott and Elias Ott.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 5th 7-9 PM and Friday, October 6th 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 129 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern, NY on Saturday, October 7th at 10:00AM. Interment following at Gate of Heaven, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
