She was born on August 16th, 1940 in New York City to John and Margaret (Peggy) McGrath. Eileen grew up in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan which is where she met and married her husband, Richard Doran. They moved to Sloatsburg, NY and raised their family.
While staying home to raise her children, Eileen took college courses and received her nursing degree from Rockland Community College and became a RN. Eileen worked as a rehabilitation nurse at Bergen County Hospital and then changed careers to work as an administrative assistant at a stock brokerage firm.
