Curtis Washburn Shuart passed away peacefully on the 21st of November 2019, at the age of 91. He leaves a loving wife of 59 years; the former Regina M. Schultheis. Curtis was born on June 23, 1928 in an 1841 farmhouse in Mahwah, NJ. He was the son of Theodore Shuart and Blanche Dutcher, daughter of Arthur W. Dutcher. He is the last of eight brothers.
The Shuart Ancestry dates back to the 1690’s when Adolph Shurt and nine brothers arrived from the Netherlands and settled in Ramapo.
He was employed by the Midland Park Lumber and Supply Company for 44 years, retiring in 1992 as Vice President. He proudly served in the Army Anti-Aircraft Artillery during the Korean War. He was also a proud member of the Empire State Society Sons of the Revolution Stony Point Chapter.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 2-5pm at the WANAMAKER & CARLOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 25th also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Airmont Lutheran Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
