Born in Roxbury, Massachusetts on June 12, 1938 he was the younger son of the late Margaret Bellew and William Murphy. He graduated from Saint Columbkille High School in Brighton and continued his education at Northeastern University. After college, Paul embarked on a career as a systems analyst first with Honeywell and later with Unisys and EMC. On October 11, 1969, he married the former Susan Dunne of Summit, New Jersey.
In his leisure time, Paul enjoyed traveling to 22 countries including Kenya, India, Columbia, Turkey, France, and his beloved Ireland. Paul was a longtime member and active parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. He always cited his most important accomplishment as his family especially his treasured grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Murphy of Sudbury; their children Kerry Siebersma and her husband Michael of Dover, NH, Jennifer Murphy of Sudbury, four grandchildren, Christian, Alexander, Catherine and Devin; a brother, William Murphy and his wife Joan of Harwichport and many nieces. He is predeceased by his cherished daughter, Maura Murphy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sudbury, with burial following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Sudbury. Friends may call at the Duckett Funeral Home in Sudbury on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at from 4-6pm.
