Paul was born in Worcester, the son of Robert Meagher of Hubbardston and the late Phyllis E. (Paddock) Meagher. He was raised and educated in Hubbardston and graduated from Quabbin Regional High School in Barre. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Suffolk University.
Mr. Meagher was President of Workers’ Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau of Massachusetts for nearly 20 years. He previously worked as Vice President of Government Affairs for Associated Industries of Massachusetts, and he was Chief of Staff in the office of the late Senator Robert D. Wetmore of Barre. Paul was a resident of Sudbury for the past 23 years and was a former resident of Waltham.
Paul enjoyed golfing, reading, camping, bike-riding, and walking his dog Sadie. He enjoyed family trips to Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, and Maine. He was an avid New England sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox. Most of all, Paul loved spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of nearly 33 years of Adeline E. (Mendonça) Meagher; devoted father of Madeline E. Malatestinic and her husband Nicholas J. of Astoria, NY, Michelle E. Meagher and her companion Forest L. Westbay of Burlington, VT; loving son of Robert Meagher of Hubbardston; loving brother of Susan M. Meagher of Hubbardston, and David R. Meagher of Burlington, VT. Paul is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday, July 8th from 3-8PM at the MetroWest Funeral & Cremation Service of Wadsworth-Chiappini, 318 Union Avenue, Framingham.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:30AM at the funeral home in Framingham.
Burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sudbury will be private.
