Born June 9, 1939, to Gerald and Martha Briggs, she grew up in Hyde Park, MA, lived in London and Belgium as an adult, and spent 26 years as a resident of Sudbury, where she raised 4 children before moving to Marlborough.
She was the loving mother of Stanton Pearson Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; Steve Pearson of Apex, NC; Sharon Blossom of Dellwood, MN and Shawn Pearson of Frisco, TX, who all survive her, along with 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Also left behind are 4 siblings, Douglas Briggs of NH, Janetta Mohler of Amherst, NH, Chester Briggs of RI and Carol Briggs of NH. Beside her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Briggs, and two sisters, Corrine Durant and Barbara Baxter. Anita was also preceded by the father of her children Stanton H. Pearson Sr.
Anita spent over 30 years working in the Sudbury public school system, including roles as a librarian, school nurse, and over 25 years in the front office of Lincoln Sudbury High School. She cared for many parents, teachers, and students during her time at the high school and hosted many exchange and metco students at her home when they were in need. She loved going to Maine, bowling, cooking and most of all spending time with family and friends. She spent countless hours driving her children to ski lessons, sports, and activities and always focused on her children.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, July 2, at the Duckett-J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road (Route 20), Sudbury, followed by burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sudbury. There will be a visiting hour from 10-11AM preceding the service.
