Terry Lee Strong

Terry Lee Strong, 82, of Lexington went home to be with his Lord peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at his home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kyle and Emily Strong of Roda, VA; two brothers, J.C Strong and Junior Strong, both of Roda, VA; and two sisters, Billie Mynes of TN and Linda Reed of North Carolina. He also is preceded in death by two daughters, Baby Emily and Leigh Ann Strong of Lexington.
Terry is survived by his wife, Sue; two sons, Jay Strong (Heather) and Pete Strong (Margaret) both of Lexington, VA; a daughter, Stephanie Coleman Hemphill (Ted) of Lexington; a special grandson, Lukas K. Strong of Lexington; a grandson, Rowan Strong of Lexington; five granddaughters, Jaycee Strong and Sailor Strong both of Lexington; Peyton Camden of Lexington; Morgan Goodbar of Lexington; Sydney Rowsey of Natural Bridge; three great-grandsons; a special brother-in-law, Ronald J. Staton “Corky” (Sara) of Forest, VA; and his cherished furry friend, Lilly and his church family.
Terry served the Lord by serving his country for six years in the United States Air Force and he also served his fellow citizens of this Commonwealth as a Virginia State Trooper from 1967 until his retirement on January 1,1994 assigned to Rockbridge County. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0126 of Buena Vista. He worshiped and was a member of his beloved Bible Church of Rockbridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bible Church of Rockbridge or a charity of choice.
A memorial service will be held at the Bible Church of Rockbridge, 33 West Whistle Creek, Lexington, VA 24450 on October 6, 2024 at 3pm.
