Rita Louise Barrett-Skojec

December 17, 2022. She was 78 years old.

Rita was born on April 17, 1944 to Mary and Adrian Domingues Sr. She grew up

in Tarrytown, New York. After graduating from Sleepy Hollow High School in

1962, she attended Clarion University in Pennsylvania. She then followed her

passion for food and became a chef and an entrepreneur. Rita operated a catering

business and wrote cookbooks. In 1995, she and her husband Robert purchased the

Schroon Lake Bed and Breakfast in Schroon Lake NY. A dynamic hostess, Rita

always provided her family, friends, and strangers with delicious meals and

sparkling conversation and quick wit. In her spare time, Rita enjoyed science

fiction, playing computer games, volunteering, cruises, and dining out.

Rita is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert Skojec (Hobe Sound), her

daughters Adrianne Barrett (Hobe Sound), Sara Barrett (Washington, DC),

stepchildren Paul Skojec (Albuquerque, NM), Laura Owens (Houston, TX), Rita

Martinez (Albuquerque, NM), nine step-grandchildren, and several friends and

extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage you to make a donation to a

charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
