Kenny Newman was born on September 27, 1949, in Hi Hat, Kentucky. His parents were Treeva Caudill Newman and Clyde Newman. He was an athlete, educator, and basketball coach. Kenny worked in the Martin County School District for 30 years; including positions at Stuart Middle School and Martin County High School. He had a very successful basketball coaching career winning Treasure Coast Coach of the Year numerous years and at one point had a 58-game winning streak. An avid golfer and being very competitive, he was proud of his 4 holes-in-one (something none of his other golfing buddies had ever done).
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen Gail Newman. Kenny and Gail were employed by Martin County School District for a combined 75 years. They have two sons, Kenneth Kreg and Kristopher Douglas. Kreg lives in Birmingham, AL with his wife Kellye. Kris lives in Grosse Point, MI with his wife Johanna and daughter Alexandria. Kenny loved his sons and his granddaughter, who was the light of his life.
Kenny requested cremation and did not want a funeral or memorial service.
We are eternally grateful to Treasure Coast Hospice for making his end-of-life care so comfortable. He passed away with his family at his side. Kenny was an honest and compassionate man who never met a stranger. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.aycockfuneralhome.net for the Newman family.
