He is survived by his wife, Carol, son, George and wife Dawn, son Dennis and wife Debra, and daughter Carolee and wife Desiree. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Christopher, Shannon, Brandon, Matthew, Hunter, Mackenzie, Austin and Riley. “Punky” leaves behind his loving sisters; Pat Kobo (Gary), Joyce Stoll, Laura Lagomarsino (Jack) as well as his adored nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his loving parents; George and Anna Stoll, stepfather John Brophy, in-laws Margaret and Harry Nolte, sister in-law Fran Perkins, and his precious granddaughter Katie Stoll.
He cherished his time spent with family especially with his grandchildren who all have made him very proud. Punky loved traveling with his Circle of 8, playing cards at the “Shack”, enjoying breakfast with friends, and making everyone around him laugh.
George was born in Stony Point, NY, on March 1, 1943. George married the love of his life and travel partner Carol on May 17, 1964. George was the backbone of the family. He never hesitated to support anyone who needed a helping hand. He was always the life of the party with his quick witted jokes and his never ending stories. He never thought twice to lift someone’s spirits.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 3pm to 7pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 73 N Liberty Dr, Stony Point, NY 10980.
