Edward Charles Schoales, 76, of Stony Point, NY passed away on Wednesday, July 15th, 2015. He was born on March 14th, 1939 in Bronx, NY to Catherine V. (nee McDonald) and Edwin C. Schoales. Ed was a member of the US Army and NYPD prior to finding his passion in the FDNY. He retired as a Battalion Chief after 40 years of service. Ed will be remembered for his dedication to his family and humble nature. He loved family vacations at Cape May and time spent with his friends of the North Rockland Social Club. He is survived by his children Catherine Kasamis (Jim), Jennifer Gamboli (Mike), Edward (Lorella), Michael (Lisa), and Daniel (Carol). He is the cherished Poppy of Kyle, Christian, Christopher, Luke, Riley, Zoe, Thomas, Brianna, Kailyn, Michael, Grace, Ella and Daniel. Ed was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (nee Hoban), youngest son Thomas, who perished as a Firefighter on 9/11 and granddaughter Brittany Kasamis. Family and friends will gather Saturday 7-9pm and Sunday 2- 4 and 7-9pm at the Higgins Funeral Home, 73 North Liberty Dr., Stony Point, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered Monday 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, NY. Interment to follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all memorial gifts be directed to the Columbia Heart Valve Center, at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University Medical Center.
