Dolores Mahoney

Dolores Mahoney (nee Schoales) passed on to her eternal rest on March 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Dolores was born in Bronx, NY on January 19, 1942 to Edwin and Catherine (McDonald) Schoales. Dolores moved to Stony Point from the Bronx in 1968.

Dolores’ greatest and proudest job was that of being a loving mother and grandmother. She also spent over 30 years at Stony Point Pharmacy.

Dolores is predeceased by John J. Mahoney, her loving husband of 41 years and her brother, Edward Schoales. She is survived by her four children; John J. III (Laura), Chris (Kathleen), Brian (Felicia) and Laurel, and nine grandchildren: John J. IV, Patricia, Carolyn, Kristine, Cooper, Alex, Connor, Brenna and Jack; her sisters Veronica McKeever and Marylou Schoales and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point. Interment will follow at F.W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY. Friends may call at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, Stony Point Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis TN.
