Richard Gene Schultz

Rick was born in Edmonton, and grew up in Stony Plain. He had a passion for sports, playing hockey and baseball throughout his childhood and young adult years; and golfing in his later years. In 1977 he met the love of his life JoAnne Altheim, and they were married in September 1979. They made their home in Stony Plain, and were blessed with their daughter, Lori, in December 1982, and Richard, in December 1985.

In 1994, Rick and his family moved out to the family farm, where they settled in. He enjoyed the country life, taking care of their home and yard. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy, always looking forward to his next visit with them. The annual family golf tournament was an event he looked forward to every year.

Rick is forever loved and remembered by his wife and best friend of 43 years, JoAnne, his daughter Lori (Bow), and his son Richard (Jody); sisters Robyn, Eryn (Kelly) and Lindsay; brother Brad (Cheryl); sisters-in-law Karen and Maureen (Tom); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rick is predeceased by his parents Richard and Becky Schultz; in-laws George and Mary Altheim; and brothers-in-law Derryl and Greg.

A memorial service for Richard will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Stony Plain United Church, 5012 51 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB T7Z1C2.
