Manfred Hesemeier

1946-2023

On September 6th, 2023, Manfred Hesemeier of Onoway, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 77.

He will be remembered as being one-of-a-kind with a passion for his family, beautiful acreage, fishing, and outdoor activities at the lake. He passed away saying he was grateful for all of his family and that he had been blessed in his life. He fought cancer with the same strength and resilience that we all knew him for, and he always spoke fondly of the staff at Westview Health Centre in Stony Plain who cared for him during his illness. Manfred studied electronic technology at NAIT and owned Onoway Radio and TV from 1978 to 1990, which many in the community knew him from. He was also an avid videographer and recorded many special moments in his family members’ lives, which they are grateful to have.

Manfred is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters Karen and Susan; sons-in-law Brian and Mike; grandchildren Andrew, Caleb, Austin, Kate, and step-grandchildren Wyatt & Ashley; sisters Anita, Marion (Bill), and Christa (Blair); aunt Hilda; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Helmut and Ursula, his brother-in-law John and nephew James. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and always remembered in their hearts.
