Sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one, Ken. I knew he was active in representing the residents of Stony Plain and it sounds like he was very well respected. He left a lasting legacy of family and service.

Dear Mrs. Lemke and family,

I miss you! I was so shocked and I did not want to believe the news of your passing. We had been back and forth between our homes, so faraway in two countries. It is so hard to say goodbye to such a precious friend who spent so many special moments together in so many years.

Ken’s many jokes were the best!  Heaven has gained a very special angel.

My condolences to you, Gail, and your entire family on the loss of Ken.  I had the privilege to  work for him while he was a councillor and also for his tenure as Mayor of Stony Plain.  We had a lot of heartfelt chats and shared a lot of laughter while he was the Mayor.  One of the fondest memories I have of Ken was his unique twist on delivering a speech to a crowd.  He insisted on starting, or ending, his speeches with a joke.  He would always run the jokes by me first, just in case; sometimes I would have to steer him in another direction, but most of the time, he made me laugh, and sometimes groan.  He was a genuine soul that always prioritized his constituents and I am honoured to have called him a friend.  I will miss you buddy - thanks for all the laughs…here’s one last one for you:
“A man walks into an empty bar; it’s just him and the bartender.  He sits down and orders a drink.  He hears someone whisper ‘Pssst….I like your tie.’  The man looks around but doesn’t see anyone.  Then he hears again ‘Pssst…that color looks good on you.’  He finally asks the bartender, ‘Excuse me, but, are you speaking to me?’. The bartender replies, ‘No, sorry, it’s the peanuts…they’re complimentary,’

I would say "cousin Ken " was a very good friend. That goes back to preschool and visiting the Lemke family. We spent Christmas together many years. Never have forgot all are good times. Ken had a busy life but always had time to visit if I came to Spruce Grove. All the best to you Gail and your family. God be with you all.

My deepest condolences to all. I had the honor of working at the town under Ken's leadership. His laugh, community passion and spirit will not be forgotten.

It was a time of our lives. Our early twenties. I remember Ken for his friendship and for his many antics. I'm sure if he could whisper over a shoulder... he might chuckle and say, 'maybe you don't want to tell them that story'.

I remember many great times together with Ken and Gail playing cards and sharing laughs.I particularly remember sharing my first Christmas after Wendy and I parted ways at the LEMKE household sharing a spot on the kitchen floor with the family dog.Dogs give me great comfort which I needed at the time.The family shared Christmas with me as if I was family and it gave me a great chance to bond with Frank.They were a warm and welcoming family as always were Ken and Gail.I always teased Ken about how Gail was too nice a girl for him andI am pleased that they flourished with their own family for so many years.Iam sure that he enjoyed the great ride and would love to see his life celebrated by everyone who had the chance to share those always humerous moments with him along the way.Iam with you all in spirit and feel deeply your great loss.Love and regards,Don Scanlan

He was also so nice and jokin.  And playing card tricks  and so giving.   
Last time I saw him at great Arlene’s birthday I got a pizza  to go home after the birthday party for dinner. Lol.  He called me over 5 10 min later and gave me 20 dollars.  I picked up the pizza ir was 19.74 or something like that lol. I instantly started laughing lol.  Thought it was goin be 25 27  😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Dear Gail and family,  I’m so sad to hear of Ken’s passing. My prayers and thoughts go out to all of you during this difficult time.  I have such great memories of Ken, mostly as a Dad raising his kids at the same time as we were. He was always encouraging and supportive of all the kids- his own, and the neighbours! He and Gail were such an integral part of the community.  I know that our grief never leaves us, but I do know it gets softer.  Thinking of all of you, and keeping you in my prayers. Ken was a friend from Bawlf High School days.  While we have not seen each other in several years, I know it would take but an instant to renew our friendship because of Ken's outgoing personality. 
Ken was very witty and brought us all to laughter time and again. 
One of my best memories is of a camping trip to Banff with Ken and Jim MacLeod  and it became one of those happy experiences that you recall forever. 
It was also a pleasure to meet Ken in his role as MLA, a position he filled with enthusiasm, skill and professionalism.
Ken, we loved and admired you.
