John Nesjan

John Nesjan, a resident of Stony Plain and formerly of Genesee, passed away on July 7, 2024 at the age of 91 years.

John Nesjan's life was a testament to love, family, and a deep connection to the land. Raised on his family's farm in Genesee, John's roots ran deep in the soil he tended to. Alongside his beloved wife Elaine, they embraced the joys of raising children, farming, travel, the warmth of community, and the simple pleasures of spending time by the river. John's passion for outdoor activities like boating, fishing, gold panning, and camping brought him much joy and created lasting memories for his family to cherish.

In their retirement years, John and Elaine continued their adventures, spending winters in California making friendships that spanned distances. John's kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand endeared him to all who knew him. His infectious smile and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known him.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elaine and their children; Cheryl (Jo) Nesjan, Joanne (Corey) Nesjan, Darcy (Kelly) Rylander, Harley (Linda) Rylander, Shelly (Paul) Nichol, Karen (Ian) Russell, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, along with brother Louie Nesjan and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family of John Nesjan extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Good Samaritan Stony Plain Care Centre for their exceptional care and compassion during John's seven years in their care.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 18, 2024 at the Genesee Community Hall, 51020 Range Rd 30, Sunnybrook, AB, T0C 2M0 at 11:00 am.
