November 21, 1934 - May 22, 2022
Jim passed away peacefully on May 22, 2022 at the General Hospital
Palliative Care Unit with his family by his side.
Jim was born to parents George and Ethel Jackson of Manning, Alberta. Jim worked for his dad, Slim Jackson, at the sawmill until operations ceased in 1958, he then bought a gravel truck and hauled gravel until 1969.
Jim met Irene Goddard in 1960 and they were married September 4, 1962 in Peace River, Alberta. Jim and Irene made their home in Manning, Alberta and had 3 children, Bryce in 1963, Laurell in 1964 and Lynda in 1967. In 1969 Jim, Irene and family moved to Spruce Grove, Alberta. Jim began selling real estate, which he would continue to do and excel at for the next 25 years.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Family was very important to him and he showed his love for his family in many ways. He had a very gentle and kind spirit and was loved and respected by everyone who knew him.
Jim loved gardening, dancing, fishing, playing cards, playing pool, putting puzzles together and playing practical jokes but most of all Jim was known for helping anyone and everyone in anyway he could. Jim loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, he especially loved to teach them practical everyday things.
Jim knew God as his personal Lord and Saviour, although he didn’t speak of his faith often, he definitely lived it. His humble nature, acts of kindness and generosity were apparent and felt by all who knew him. Jim never wanted to be the center of attention or to be acknowledged for things that he had done, it was enough for him to know that he was able to make a difference in someone’s life.
Jim will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Irene Jackson, his 3 children, Bryce Jackson, Laurell (Alan) Taylor and Lynda (Lindsay) Untereiner, his 6 grandchildren, Brandon (Allie), Cory (Tamara), Melissa (Dustin), Joel, Jason and Trista (Alex), his 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jim knew how much his family loved him and we are able to find peace in knowing he is in heaven having an amazing family reunion and we will see him again one day.
We love you and miss you so much
Until we meet again…….
