It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Erin SoonHee Bai at the age of 20. Erin was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1999. She grew up playing soccer and also spent many years taking piano lessons, becoming an accomplished musician. In addition to her piano, Erin played clarinet in the Jasper Place High School Honour Band and enjoyed the opportunity to perform in Banff, AB and Disneyland, CA.
While in high school, Erin began working at Old Navy. She formed many friendships there and drew much strength from her “work family”. After high school, while still working at Old Navy, Erin began studying to become a Licensed Practical Nurse at Norquest College. She was extremely excited and motivated to begin the journey toward her end goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. She took great pride in buying her first stethoscope – it was pink, of course!
Erin loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially out at the lake. She will be forever loved by her parents, David and Leslie (Currie); brother Alexander; boyfriend Travis Bodner and his family; grandparents David Bai Sr. and Wendy Danson; numerous other close friends and relatives. Erin was predeceased by Papa and Amma (Jack and Joan Currie); Grandma Elisabeth Bai; and her dear Dottycat.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Services in Stony Plain. For those that wish, this service will be livestreamed. To watch, please click the link below.
