His work often led him on incredible adventures, including a memorable stint in Australia during the 1980s. In the vast expanse of the Australian outback, Don found himself immersed in a whole new world of experiences. After returning to Canada in the mid-1980s, Don and Loretta made their home on an acreage in Sundre, AB, where they built a life with their family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Don’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. As often as he was able, he would visit them, going between Claresholm and countless hockey arenas across Alberta and British Columbia. In his free time, he could also be found on the golf course playing the game he loved with family and friends.
Don was known for his adventurous spirit, his quick wit, and his unwavering love for his family. He had a unique ability to find joy in every moment and to spread laughter wherever he went. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
