Ruth C. Williams

Ruth Williams died Friday, March 2, 2012 in Park Springs Cobblestone, Stone Mountain, GA. She was born in Devereux, GA, August 9, 1922. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Edwin Williams and her daughter Pamela Williams Jones. Ruth and Ed raised their girls in Memphis, TN and retired to Sea Island, GA. She is survived by her daughter Diann Williams Mahood and her grandchildren Jessica Marie Jones, Scott Edwin Mahood and his wife Connie, and Kelly Ruth Gorski and her husband Charlie. She had a wonderful, loving marriage and was a strong example as a mother and grandmother who was dedicated to family, solid in her faith, fun loving, caring of others and a loyal friend. She was the last of her generation for both sides of her family who were so important to her and she will be missed. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 21 in the Chapel at the Dunwoody United Methodist Church, 1548 Mt. Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Georgia, 3525 Piedmont Rd.
