Lavonne Helen Ward (June 12, 1935 – December 30, 2016) Peanie Ward, 81 years old, went to heaven on Friday, December 30, 2016. Peanie was born in Pocahontas, Iowa and raised with her nine siblings at the family farm in Barnum, Iowa. After completing her nurses training in Iowa she moved to San Francisco, CA where she married Chuck Halligan and they began their family. In Stockton, CA she worked as a nurse for Dr. Heffernan, and then they moved to Syracuse, New York for a few years before returning to Stockton. For over 25 years she worked as a registered nurse in the Emergency Room and Pediatrics at St. Joseph’s Hospital. After the death of her first husband in 1973 she married Matt Ward and they raised the children at “The Ranch” where she stayed until her death. “The Ranch” is the place where anyone who entered the doors felt the love of the entire Halligan-Ward family and it is a place that will always be the source of fond memories of our mother, and grandmother who lived life based on her Catholic faith filled with love for her family and friends. If so inclined, raise a toast of Bourbon and Coke to Peanie who we will miss dearly. Cheers, Mom! We love you. She is survived by her children Terry Halligan, PJ (Cathy) Halligan, Clancy Halligan, Corita Halligan and Jennifer Halligan all of Stockton, CA; Casey (Sheri) Halligan, and Carmella (Scott) Richardson of Lodi, CA and Becky Halligan of Sacramento, CA; her sisters June Lawler, Lorraine Wignall, Sr. Mary Corita Heid, Margaret Ipsan, Nancy Garretson, Sharon Heid; 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Orie and Florence Heid, her husbands, Chuck Halligan and Matt Ward, her sisters Jeannette Davis and Joan Davis, her brothers Jack Heid and Kenny Heid and her youngest son, Rick Halligan.
