Kenneth George Williams

Kenneth George Williams, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 in Stockton, CA. Kenneth was born on June 22, 1936 in French Camp, CA. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose Marie Williams, his son Brian Swanson, daughter-in-law Kathy Swanson, and grandchildren Anna Swanson and Steven Swanson. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Williams, and brothers Herb, Will and Fred Williams. Loving husband, father and grandfather. He dearly loved his family, as we loved him. He graduated from Stockton high school and Delta college. He enlisted in the navy at age eighteen and spent four years in various places around the world, ending up in Cuba. When he was discharged, he went into construction work for a while and then joined the Stockton Fire Department for several years. Ken then worked for the Federal Fire District, ending his career with the California Department of Forestry. Following retirement, he worked part time as Caretaker at the Wildermuth House up in the foothills until his second retirement. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially during the holidays. Christmas was his favorite time. He would always cook his turkey and ham for the annual Christmas open house. He loved trips with his wife up the coast in the summer, to the foothills to see the wild flowers and the first snow up in Reno or Tahoe. The trips he enjoyed the most were Peru, climbing around Machu Picchu and Alaska, fishing with his son and grandson and every vacation to Disneyland with the family. He enjoyed fishing with his father, Frank, friend, Vic and grandson, Steven. He was fond of working out in the yard with his roses and plants and sitting out on the patio in the early morning with his coffee and enjoying the outdoors. He had a love for music, especially smooth jazz and had a large CD collection of different artists. He loved sports and would sit in his favorite chair watching his favorite teams the Giants, Warriors and Forty Niners. Ken was a man of God, always reading his bible faithfully. He was a generous, kind, thoughtful and loving person who never forgot to give a beautiful anniversary, birthday or Christmas card to his wife every year. Although he will be greatly missed by all who knew him, we know he is in a better place.
