Anna Marie Gonzales-Wilson, age 51 passed away on May 9, 2024. She is survived by her loving family. Husband, James Wilson, daughter, Annabella, stepson, Thomas James (Star/Auriella), sister, Dinna, niece ,Violette and her parents, Danilo and Francisca Gonzales. Anna Marie is also survived by a huge extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and their families and friends who are like family.
Known to her family as Marie, she was born in Dagupan, Philippines. She was so adored and loved as the first granddaughter and niece on both sides of her parents' family. Along with her mother, they emigrated to the United States when she was 6 months old to join her father who was serving in the United States Navy. A year later her sister was born. For the first 18 years of her life, she lived the "military brat" life, moving to new adventures every few years. She has lived in Florida, California (San Diego, Long Beach, Lemoore), Hawaii and Alaska.
Marie loved her family very much. She had a soft spot for her daughter, Bella and niece, Violette, spoiling them immensely. She loved and raised her stepson, TJ like her own. She built a wonderful life with the love of her life, Jimmy. Although their time was short, they shared so much love and happiness that most people don't experience in a lifetime. He stood by her side from the start, until her last breath, never unwavering. Together they lived life to the fullest. They built a successful business and shared their successes with others. Marie was a generous person and always thought about others. Even during her busiest days, she always committed to visiting her parents regularly, spending time with them and helping them navigate their medical care. They were so proud of her and referred to her as "My Marie". She was big on holidays, either spending time with Jimmy's family or her side in the Bay Area. Her annual Thanksgiving spread will be missed.
Marie earned her AA and BS in Nursing and worked over 20 years as a Registered Nurse. She loved being a nurse and is truly respected by her colleagues. She loved them like family. Although she ventured into other departments during her career, her passion was being an ICU nurse. She always returned to the ICU. As her work family put it, "She was an adrenaline junky". She loved running to the codes to save a life. She was an excellent nurse and expected others to perform at her level.
There will never be anyone like "Ate Marie". #SalsaRN
