Alma Ramey age 87 of Stockton, CA

Alma was born March 17, 1928, in Monroeville, Alabama, to John and Carrie Williams. She was the second of four children. She was raised in Pensacola, Florida, where she attended local schools and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.

She relocated to Stockton, CA in 1953, where she became a faithful member of Second Baptist Church for 50+ years, were she served as the Director of Christian Board of Education. She was a faithful member of Bible Study Fellowship, (BSF) with perfect attendance until she fell ill and the Circle of Love group, both at First Baptist Church. She was a devoted and dedicated Christian; always giving of

herself to others.

She attended Stanislaus State University and the University of the Pacific, where she earned her teaching degree. After forty plus years with Stockton Unified School District, she retired as an Elementary School Teacher.

Alma entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord on September, 22, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Carrie Williams, Sisters, Marian Williams and Annie L. Robison, Brother, John Williams, Jr. Sons, Donald Johnson “Donnie” and Lawrence Johnson “Larry”.

She leaves to mourn her devoted daughter, Shirley Darlene Saunders (Walter) Stockton, CA; son, Ronald Johnson (Selena) Palmdale, CA; Grandchildren Leland (Kia), Dave (Kortny), Demarea, Marques, Kasondra (Jerry) Leatrice, Chakia, Amy and 12 Great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and all of her special friends.

Our hearts are heavy, she will be truly missed. She was the glue that held this family together. We take comfort in knowing that she is in the presence of the LORD. Her love will remain in our hearts forever.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 5-8 PM at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601. N. California St. Stockton, CA 95202. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11 AM at Second Baptist Church, 2350 E. Market St. Stockton, CA 95205. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
