Yvonne Elizabeth (Davis) Beazer, was born in the Bronx, NY on June 23, 1938 to Eugene Davis & Ethelyn (Toussaint). After a long illness Yvonne departed this life on January 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents and two of her sisters, Gail Russell & Jeannie Davis
Yvonne attended Washington Irving High. Later, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from Mercy College in 1983. In 1993, Yvonne was united in holy matrimony to Vincent Beazer. They shared five children between the two of them and thirteen grandchildren with one great grandchild.
Yvonne was a hard worker. She worked as a Human Resources Assistant with the Department of Social Services for the City of New York & for New York State. She loved helping others and was very passionate about literacy. Post Retirement- she was volunteer coordinator of the Learning Leaders of the 'Reading is Fundamental' program of New York City. Yvonne was voted Volunteer of the Year by the Northeast region of the Reading is Fundamental Program. She also was recognized and honored as Top Tutor of the Year for New York City's school volunteer program. She was selected from 1700 volunteers at Fordham University in the Bronx.
After moving to Georgia, Yvonne became a volunteer with the Henry and Clayton County School Districts.
Yvonne was a Pianist in a recital at Carnegie Hall, New York City. She attended Red Oak United Methodist Church in Stockbridge. She was a member of the Henry County NAACP Chapter and served as Treasurer in Stockbridge. She was an Active member of the Red Hat Society, Classy Ladies of Hidden Valley. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader in New York, and she loved children. Yvonne was a vegetarian. She loved fashion and had her own sense of style. She loved salsa dancing; she was adventurous & loved to travel. She loved to cruise, and she loved her Yoga sisters and was involved with the Yoga Retreat for Women of Color for several years. She also was a frequent presenter for the retreats held at Kripalu.
Yvonne leaves to cherish her precious memory, her loving husband of 31 years, Vincent; her brother, Amir Abdullah (Mary), her sister Elaine Abdullah. Five children: Pam Bodley (Paul), Steve Jackman (Doreen), Derek Beazer (Shannon), Randy Beazer (Amaris), Corey Beazer (Alicia); thirteen grandchildren: Marc, Chris, Corine, Kevin, Anaya, Charise, Derek, Samuel, Asia, Christopher, Cierra, Desmond, Ava and one great-grandchild along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
