William D Sykes

William Darnell Sykes, age 55 of Ellenwood, GA passed away on July 8, 2019. He was born on November 18, 1963 in Emporia, VA. He was a 1982 graduate of Deer Park High School and a graduate of Delhi College in Syracuse, NY. William joined the U.S Army in 1984 and went on to serve his country for 23 years. He was a member of the Masonic order, PHA pride of Leesville and the order of Eastern Star. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley motorcycle and spending time with his family. He was a fanatic Saints fan. All who know and love him will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers; Lawrence Percell Sykes (his twin), Jessie James Disnuite and Joseph Harold Disnuite.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Lawrence (Bonita) Sykes of Maryland; his mother, Brenda Sykes of Georgia; his wife, Dedria Sykes of South Carolina; his sisters; Joyce (Bernard) Morrison of Georgia and Lauren Sykes of Maryland, his three children; Martell (Inga) Sykes of Ft. Bragg, NC, Evan Sykes of Virginia, and Kamryn Sykes of South Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel located at 376 Fairview Rd in Stockbridge, GA. Interment will take place at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at a later date.
