She was married to her husband and soulmate, Roy M. Hatcher on January 23, 1954, in DeKalb County, GA. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
She was a long-time member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church where she served as a women’s Bible study teacher and was also a member of the choir. After raising her children, she enjoyed working for Boys and Girls Clubs of America as an Administrative Secretary. She also enjoyed traveling and participating with her husband’s antique car club.
Janelle was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Steven L. Hatcher, and Ronald E. Hatcher.
Left to cherish her memory are Husband Roy M. Hatcher, Sister Doris Russell, Brother Jerry McGarity, Sister-in-Law Connie O’Neal, Daughter Susan H. Helton (David), Son Mark J. Hatcher (Jodi), her Grandchildren Jessica Mann, Janelle Vilonen, Wesley Helton, Matthew Helton, Brad Hatcher, Kayla McMurray, Andrew Hatcher, and 13 Great Grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service for Janelle will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
