Gerri was the center of many family gatherings that included large extended families on holidays. She was a joy to be around and kind to everyone. I remember as kids we would always feel welcome at her house during Easter egg hunts, Christmas eve. She was the type of person who brought people together. She was loved by many and will be missed.

You have always been an important part of my family since July 14, 1962 when you married my father ( Arleigh Huey ). My sister Patricia and I were introduced to you after your marriage. For fifty-eight years you were a shining light. Your smiles, your laugh, your hugs and kisses, your kindness were all part of the essential elements of you as a unique person. We were blessed by the many visits we had over these years. One of my favorite times to visit you was Christmas Eve. This Christmas Eve visit that brought all of our families together was as special to you as it was to me.                                   
My husband, Ali, my children - Sabria, Omar, Amira, Asmahan, and Leila, as well as myself have always loved you. "Grandmother Gerri", you were a special person. We will always have loving and fond memories of you.

I got the opportunity to travel a bit for work and would stop in for a few minutes or sometimes spend the night with Aunt Geraldine. Last summer I decided that I would just surprise her and show up around lunch time. I was the one who was surprised because when I got there the door was closed. (When she was home I always remember her door being open.) So I knocked and then called and I could hear her coming through the house and she opened the door laughing, still in her pajamas but welcomed me in nonetheless and even told me to look in the fridge if I was hungry but she had already eaten so I needed to just help myself. She has always had an open and welcoming heart, home and fridge! This family has been truly blessed to have her as  a part of it. She is loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed.

Geraldine is survived by one son and daughter; Sharon Powell of Stockbridge, GA and Clifton Worn (Donna) of Montgomery, AL.Geraldine had five grandchildren; Tracy and Bobby Weatherly of Stockbridge, GA; Kevin and Tiana Powell of Stockbridge, GA; Carrie and Justin Schear of McDonough, GA; Wendy and Bo Lesley of Locust Grove, GA; and Stephanie and Greg Scott of Jackson, GA
She also had 11 great-grandchildren, the pride of her life whom always kept her going; Logan, Ryan, Brandon, Katelyn, Ashley, Christopher, Hunter, Alex, Christian, Courtney, and Cameron; also two great-great-grandchildren, Aubree and Jaxon.Geraldine is also survived by two sisters and one brother; Betty Britt of Stockbridge, GA; Ann Bradshaw of Ellijay, GA; and Earl Tolleson of Oxford, GA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
