George W. Phillips age 82, of Stockbridge passed away Wednesday April 11, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday April 14, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Bethel United Methodist Church with Pastor Lavell Sanders officiating. Mr. Phillips will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Emily Phillips. 3 sons; Edward and Toni Phillips, Glynn and Beth Phillips and Steve Phillips. 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Brother; Gene and Ruby Phillips. Sister; Hazel and James Duffey. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Evelyn Phillips. Brothers; Bobby and Edward Phillips. Sister; Marie Brown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday April 13, 2012 from 6-8 pm. Horis A. Ward-Fairview Chapel in charge of arrangements.
