Eleanor grew up in Lakewood Heights in Atlanta but after marrying Douglas and living in several locations, in 1987 they moved to Coweta County where they lived for 27 years. She was living in Loganville close to family when she passed away. While her twin boys were growing up she took a break from working. During that time, she, Douglas and other parents in the area helped start AABC Little League Baseball at Andrew Bailey Park. She also helped organize a group to fight the proposed outer perimeter expressway through Coweta County. She and other parents started a concession stand for baseball at East Coweta High School and worked hard to get a baseball only coach and letter jackets for the team. Eleanor was a member of Line Creek Baptist Church for 27 years. She dearly loved going there and considered its members truly family.
