Ms. Jackson was born in East Atlanta on April 2,1928 to Paul and Annie Coggin and was the seventh child of eight children. After graduating high school, Betty worked in the accounting office of Rich's when the headquarters was located in downtown Atlanta. She married Earl Jackson in 1951 and they later moved to South Georgia. After they moved back to Atlanta, she worked as a sales associate at W. T. Grant. She resigned in 1968 to be a full-time homemaker and raise five children.
Ms. Jackson is survived by her daughter Cynthia Majors, daughter Sheryl Farmer, son-in law Darryl Farmer, son Earl Jackson, son Emery Jackson, daughter-in-law Patty Jackson, son Emerson Jackson, daughter-in-law Helen Jackson; grandchildren Brett Farmer, Ashlyn Farmer, Crystal Waters, Earl Jackson Jr., Brandon Jackson, Amy Russell, Stephanie Russell, Ethan Jackson, Aidan Jackson, Grant Jackson, Miles Jackson; great grandchildren Preston Waters, Parker Waters, Payton Waters, Caleb Jackson, Maddison Russell, Jakkob Russell, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Thursday, March 21, 11:00-1:00 p.m. at Horis Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. She loved flowers and they are appreciated.
