Barbara Jean (Stevens) King

Barbara was born on July 4, 1946 in Bedford, Virginia. At an early age, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she worked and later retired from the State of Georgia -Industrial Waste Water Division. In the early 70’s, she met the love of her life, James C. King and they married in August 1980. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Although Barbara never gave birth to children of her own, she blessed the lives of her step children. She was truly the mother she didn’t have to be and for that she will forever be missed.

She is survived by daughters, Lisa (Brett) of North Carolina and Pamela of Virginia; son, Chris (Julie) of Georgia; five grandchildren, Regina (Jeremy), Johnathan, Devin (Casey) of Georgia, Montana of North Carolina, and Crystal of Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Lilah; other relatives and family friends.

Family will receive family and friends on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel in Stockbridge, Georgia with graveside service following at 12:00Noon in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
