Barbara Bo Jean Davis

Barbara "Bo" Davis age 79 of Jonesboro , passed away February 24, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents Orton and Annette Meason and a brother William "Lanky" Meason. Born on July 19, 1933 in Atlanta, she was a graduate of Fulton High School in Atlanta in 1951. Was employed by the Camp Fire Girls of America, J.B. Davis & Sons, Inc. and Holyfield Management. She was a member of First Christian Church of Jonesboro, and was married at the Lakewood Christian Church in Atlanta on October 31, 1951. Barbara was a member of the Lakewood Jaycettes/Georgia Jaycettes-Local and State Officer and Committee Chair. Served continuously for the last 50 plus years on various local,state,regional and national committees includeing the following: Georgia Amateur Boxing Association- Secretary/Treasurer and Tournament Director, SE Coast Regional- Secretary/Treasurer,USA Amateur Boxing Association-Awards Committee, Site Selection Committee and Tournament Director and 1996 Atlanta Olympic Boxing Committee. Other achievements include Georgia Boxing Hall of Fame and Georgia Professional "Ring of Honor" December. 2010.Survivors are her husband of 61 years Jesse B. "Buddy" Davis, Jonesboro, daughter Denise Davis Boutwell, McDonough, son Doug Davis, Jonesboro, grandchildren Sam Davis, Jonesboro, Brittany Boutwell Hatcher and Chris Hatcher, Locust Grove, Drew Davis, Newnan, Tray Boutwell, Roswell and Max Davis, Atlanta, one great grandchild Mason Hatcher. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 28, 2013 at 12 p.m. in the Fairview Chapel of Horis A. Ward. Pastor Al Robinson will officiate. Interment in the Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday February 27th from 3-5 & 6-8 p.m.
