
Dad,

My very first memory was when I was three years old. I remember crying and you picking me up and holding me. I felt safe. I have always remembered that feeling. All throughout my life, you were always there to make sure I was safe, happy and loved.

Growing up the youngest of five wasn’t always easy for me, but you were there to make every day count. You would tell me stories about being the youngest in your family and what an important role that was in life. So many little things. So many big things. Whether it was managing my Little League Team, teaching me how to cook and making up silly songs along the way or simply watching our British comedy shows with Ma on PBS. You were there. Because of that, those days will always be special to me.

Your love for animals was a gift we all inherited from you. Just last summer you and I were sitting on my deck after one of our long walks. We sat feeding and watching the birds and the squirrels in the yard. Then Ma & Pa Duck, which you later renamed Frannie and Woo Woo, came back for a visit. We saw them earlier on our walk and fed them. Your eyes lit up and you smiled.

In so many ways, I am fortunate to have had a father like you; you’ve shown me that it was okay to make mistakes. It was okay to be silly. It was okay to cry. Most importantly, it was okay to be myself. You once told me “It doesn’t matter what other people think. If you have love in your heart, that’s all that matters. Just remember you’re not just a drop in the ocean, baby girl. You’re the ocean in a drop.”

I will feed the ducks in your honor, talk to the birds and squirrels for you and remain being silly every chance I get. These moments always seem to bring me closer to you. Give Ma a hug and kiss for me and tell her I love and miss her too.

Dad thank you for all that you given to me you will forever be in my heart, you blessed us every day with love kind words and most of when you said yes when I asked for your daughters hand in marriage. Love you forever and always.

You and I were each others left handed Gemini twins, as mom would call us two matching  bookends, as much as I didn’t like to admit it when I was growing up.
 I’m proud  of the person I’ve become, you taught us all the true meaning in life , to be honest, true to our selves and to work hard because nothing in life is free except the unconditional love of a parent! 

I will hold dear to my heart all of the good times and great conversations we had and being  goofy with you.  I know you and mom are together and that’s what matters now.

Watch over us all together, it’s not goodbye but someday we’ll all be together again ❤️

Grandpa,
You were there for every graduation, every birthday, and every milestone in my life. You made every single one of your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren feel as if they were your favorite.
