A self-proclaimed Stockton boy, Conrado grew up in California. He moved to Chicago in the late 1960s. Conrado worked for 30 years with the event company Ronsley/HMR Designs, where he was loved and well-respected by his colleagues. He was dubbed 'the Vinyl King' for his flooring expertise. After retiring in 2017, Conrado became the neighborhood ‘landscaper’ as he mowed and trimmed the lawns around the block. Additionally, he would remove snow during the winter, clearing out driveways and sidewalks for neighbors. He was passionate about music spanning all genres, but especially liked rock n' roll. Conrado also loved spending time outdoors enjoying the sun and a good soccer game. He was truly a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who gave whole-heartedly and expected nothing in return.
Conrado will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Elba, his devoted children; Laura (Christopher) Mendez, and Ricardo (Sylvia) Gonzalez; his beloved grandchildren; Veraliz Carvajal (Mario Salamanca), Kiara Carvajal (fiancée Jonathan Arenas), Alejandro, and Isabela; his cherished great-grandchildren; Yanaliz, Yadiel, and Santiago; his siblings, Arturo, Jose, Roberto and Ester, as well as countless other family and friends.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation for Conrado that will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, Illinois 60402.
